PErforming arts

In Lower School Performing Arts, we introduce our students to the language of music. We lay the foundation early to give students an understanding of music theory in the hopes of cultivating curiosity and an appreciation for music in later years. Students are encouraged to engage in music through music games, singing and simple instruments that keep students engaged and wanting more.

Coventry students in their Middle School years begin to engage in public performance and develop the art of singing. From their years in lower school, they develop individual skills, understanding, and confidence by working in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Here we hone in on the importance and value of singing and cultivating a relationship with Christ in personal and corporate worship. Regular performances throughout the year are celebrations of student and ensemble achievement.

Coventry's Upper School music program fosters individual and corporate achievements, aesthetic depth, and stylistic creativity in a supportive yet stimulating environment. Here, students' curiosity take shape and form as they explore various forms of creative expression through music, art and theater. They develop their own voice, skills and interests by taking ownership of their years of education here at Coventry and bringing their uniqueness to bear in each and every performance. Students hone their skills in weekly one-on-one lessons in voice and instrumental study, strengthening their passions through performances and concerts.
